Since this is Lunch Week and it’s a long weekend, writing about picnics seems like a good idea. However, this does not seem like such an auspicious weekend for a picnic, unless you don’t mind a little rain and wind.
We South Floridians can sympathize with the poor folks at The Picnic Club in New York City. Their inaugural picnic was rained out for two months before they were finally able to hold their first picnic on June 1. Any further plans have been rained out.
Mark Bittman, the “Minimalist Chef,” is king of lists. He compiled this list of 101 Picnic Ideas. The interactive picnic blanket photograph is inspiring and it makes me wonder, “Why don’t I do that more often?” Many of these make quick workday lunches too.
